Martin Nwadiugwu, is an informatician, aging enthusiast, and application scientist. His research is focused on biomedical informatics, at the intersection of healthcare, computer science, and aging. Extending healthy lifespan for the older person using informatics methods is his main goal. The presence of multiple disease condition is often associated with older populations, who are most vulnerable during disease outbreak and bioinformatics research in aging is becoming a more active area as many genes are still not properly annotated and their function unknown. Martin hopes that by investigating long-term conditions associated with older populations using interdisciplinary research methods, we can uncover the evidence base and better understand the complex process of aging to advance medical research and expand our knowledge about factors associated with healthy lifespan. Martin is an excellent science communicator making complex scientific concepts accessible to global audiences.
