I am a critical care physician-scientist who studies the role of clinical, translational, and health equity factors in functional recovery after acute and critical illness in older adults. I am funded by both the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Research & Development and the National Institutes of Health, and my research occurs at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Nashville Veterans Affairs Hospital with the Critical Illness, Brain Dysfunction, and Survivorship (CIBS) Center.
