My program of research is interdisciplinary, and mainly focuses on human development, individuals’ health and well-being across adulthood and old age, with a specific concentration on the impact of different types of stressor exposure on health across the lifespan. My long-term goal is to utilize my scientific investigations of stress contexts and mechanisms to inform and develop effective interventions to reduce stressor exposure and promote healthy aging among people under chronic stress. This will greatly build upon existing research on dementia caregiving and caregiver health and well-being. Another focus of my research is the long-term effect of childhood adversity such as maltreatment and abuse. My current research focuses on the association between indicators of sleep health and cognitive outcomes in the context of daily experiences and chronic stress exposure.
